LBMS GIRLS DEFEAT SOUTH IN 3 OUT OF 4 GAMES
Last night, the Lake girls basketball teams dominated South in three out of 4 games.
7th Grade A put the pressure on early and never let up winning 41-9. Laynie Wurts lead the team in scoring with a season high 14 points. Sydney Harvey added 10 points, followed by Willa Nanney with 6 points, Emma Goodnight with 5 points, Hayden Fryar with 4 points and Zariah Garcia with 2 points. Emerson Londergan and Anna-Lena Bowers played well on defense.
The 7th grade B teams almost had a shut out game not allowing a single point until the 4th quarter and winning the game 27-2. Jenna Taylor lead the team with 8 points. Kelcie Stephenson, Giana Wren, and Teagan Vazquez all had 4 points a piece. Alana McCoy scored 3 points followed by Rory Fox and Lucy Mahoney with 2 points. Logan Stahl played great defense with several steals on the night.
8th grade B team played with excitement and hustle but came up short against the South Belton Tigers. The Broncos played well on defense, but would not be able to catch up in the 4th quarter, losing by a score of 9-18.
The 8th grade A teams won 35-9. Sophie Quigley came off the bench to contribute 6 points, playing a key role in the 8A team's win against South Belton Middle School, earning her the Offensive Player of the Game title. Mariah Miller excelled defensively, earning the Defensive Player of the Game.
